Who is Suguru Geto?

Suguru Geto is the main antagonist of the Japanese anime series, Jujutsu Kaisen. Geto is the special grade cruse user who has the ability of the curse energy and spirit manipulation.

Formally, he was a student at the Tokyo Jujutsu High School. Later, he has a very deep hatred for the non-sorcerers that lead the massacre of more than a hundred villagers in a single night.

What is the backstory of Suguru Geto?

The story of Suguru Geto starts as a student at the Tokyo Jujustu High School. The manga artist, Gege Akutami has not revealed any details on his family background. However, there is a high possibility of him being affiliated with a common family. He was born on the 3rd of Feburary 1989.

When he was second year of high school, he was 17 years old. He shared a good friendship with Satoru Gojo and Shoko Ieiri. As a student of Jujutsu High School, he also believed in the ideology that Jujutsu sorcerers for protecting non-sorcerers. At the time, he was a righteous and kind person who took his duty as a sorcerer way too seriously.

How Suguru Geto is related to Riko Amanai?

During the second year of Geto, the headmaster, Masamichi Yaga assigned him the task for the safekeeping of Riko Amanai who was the star plasma vessel for Master Tengen. In the task, he was accompanied by Satoru Gojo.

During the assignment, Geto, Riko, and Gojo hung out a lot forming in the school. During that time, they formed a strong bond of friendship. After that, Riko decided to live her life long as a free person rather than merging with Master Tengen.

Who Geto turned as a villain?

His task as an escort for Riko turned his life upside down. He was responsible for keeping Riko safe from the organization Q and Time Vessel Association. The organization’s aim is to assassinate Riko from the merger with Master Tengen.

Despite his great effort alongside Gojo, the assassin, Toji Fushiguro killed Riko shooting her in the head in front of him. Since the incident, he started experiencing changes in his ideologies. He started taking distancing himself from Gojo and started taking some of the most dangerous missions on his own.

As time passes, he develops a deep hatred toward the non-sorcerers. Even he calls them monkeys with deep regret for saving them during his high school days. After talking to Yuki Tsukumo, he concluded that killing all the non-curse is the better way of freeing the world from cursed spirits.

Following the death of his junior, Yu Haibara he got pushed into a further dark direction. As a result, he massacred more than 100 people in the village turning into the main villain of the series, Jujutsu Kaisen.

When he murders the villagers, he was expelled from the school. Also, he become a fugitive to be executed on sight. In Shinjuku, he met Gojo and Shoko for the last time to say goodbye. However, Gojo could not kill Geto due to their friendship. At the time, Geto was 20 years old.

After that, he started his journey as a leader taking twin sisters; Nanako Hasaba and Mimiko Hasaba as his allies. Soon, he took over Star Globe Cult and changed his attire to a monk. Continuing his evil works, he became a special-grade curse user when he was 27 years old.

At that point in time, he also acted as the exorcist and uses no-sorcerers to absorb their curse and to collect money. Also, he assembled a team of elite curse users for attacking Jujutsu High.

Satoru Gojo Vs Suguru Geto

In the high school days, Gojo and Geto were best friends. Among the friends, Geto led a righteous and kind whereas Gojo was rude and ignorant in nature. However, they always remain friends and consider each other stronger while comparing hence they were rivals of each other.

The turn of events came to place when the Star Plasma Vessel Escort mission took place. During the mission, Geto fought with Toji and was defeated miserably. However, Gojo killed Toji in the rematch by using his family’s secret technique, Hollow Technique: Purple.

After the match, Suguru realized that Gojo is far stronger than him. Finally, Geto started distancing himself from Geto taking dangerous missions to match with Gojo.

Who killed Suguru Geto?

Following the path of darkness, Geto has gone too far from saving. From starting a cult for absorbing the cursed spirits to the declaration of war against all non-sorcerer humans.

Eventually, his best friend, Gojo was compelled to Geto putting an end to his hideous work. Before dying Geto made peace with the Gojo leaving all the rivalry behind. He died at the age of 27 years old.

Has Suguru Geto Really died?

Sometimes after the death of Geto, a post-mortem was held. Through this process, Kenjaku takes control of Geto’s dead body. Once again, Geto reappears in the manga and anime with the stitched scar on his forehead. He forms a special team of special Grade Curses including Jogo, Hanami, Dagon, and Mahito.

Kenjaku is currently disguised in the body of Geto and pulling all the strings of the special graded curses. His innate technique allows him to swap his body with another person. Inside the body, he is able to gain access to the host’s cursed energy, memories, and innate techniques. Using his innate technique, he has been alive for more than a thousand years.
