Who is Muzan Kibutsuji?

Muzan Kibutsuji is the main antagonist of the Japanese anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba. He is the first demon to exist and the king of all demons. As of now, he is more than 10000 years biologically.

Even more, he has also formed an organization named 12 Kizuki and he controls it. Later, it is also revealed that Muzan is also from the Ubuyashiki family bloodline.

Muzan’s History

Muzan was born in Japan in the Heian era. From his birth, he was having very difficulty living. Not only when he came to the world, but it was also happening when he was his mother’s comb. He even stopped his heartbeat when he was in his mother’s comb. After his birth, he was suffering from a disease called thanatophobia. This disease is a type of anxiety disorder whereas in the anime the person suffering from this disease cannot live up to 20 years old.

His doctor was treating him with a special medicine. But, he killed the doctor thinking that the medicine was not working at all. After killing the doctor, he realized that the medicine was working and had made him strong too. In addition, his act of killing the doctor made him feel guilty too because he was not able to get his full treatment. So, without it, he could not walk in the sun. Therefore, he formed more demons to find a way to survive in the sun. Also, from the medicine of the doctor, he was turned into a demon and needed human flesh to survive.

What is the goal of Muzan Kibutsuji?

Muzan was living in fear because of his illness. His doctor was treating him and turned him into a demon. But, he was not able to walk freely in the sun. To overcome it he must find the Blue Spider Lily flower. This flower was very rare and hard to find. So, his main goal was to find the Blue Spider Lily to roam in the sun without any problems.

As the flower was very rare, he alone could not find the flower. So, he formed a group of demons and controlled them to find the Blue Spider Lily. Heading on, demon slayer Nichirin’s blade started killing the demons. Thus, his second goal was to kill all the demon slayers. He fears his second goal when he met e fears his second goal when he met Yoriichi.

Who is Muzan Kibutsuji wife?

If we are headed to a long Milena time ago, Muzan had 5 wives whom he used to abuse. As a result, they were not able to get a pleasant end. Most of the time, his wives committed suicide. He tried living like a normal human being with a wife and daughters.

One of his wife’s names was Anne Kibutsuji. Anne was given to Muzan as a maiden in return for Anne’s family’s safety. Also, she was a princess. Together they had two daughters; Regina Tomioka and Haruka Tomioka. Anne died while giving birth to her youngest daughter, Regina Tomioka.

The name of his other wife is Rei Kibutsuji. The character, Rei is mentioned in the Asakusa Arc. Together, they have a daughter, Sakura Kibutsuji.

Who are the biological daughters of Muzan Kibutsuji?

Haruka Kibutsuji

The name of the biological child of Muzan Kibutsuji is Haruka Kibutsuji. Haruka is supposed to have strong affection toward his father. Whereas, Muzan is just using his family to hide his traces. Even more, he also has adopted a child who is half demon and half human.

Regina Tomioka

Regina is the youngest daughter of Muzan and Anne. While giving birth to Regina, Anne passed away. Later, when she turned 16, Regina ran away from her father. After that, Yoriichi Tsugikuni found her and gave her love and affection as a father. For Muzan, she has a great hatred within herself and she is searching a way to kill Muzan.

Regina is a Primordial hashira and uses the Primordial Breathing Style.

“My father was the progenitor of Demons, Muzan Kibutsuji, and my mother was a Princess, Anne; as soon as I was born, my mother died. He took me away to train but I escaped him soon after I turned sixteen. My father..well let`s say he never earned the good Dad award, because to him I was just a tool to be molded in his image, a perfect daughter. I was like some kind of trophy to him, he never really wanted me and then Yoriichi found me. He became some kind of surrogate father to me and he challenged my actual father to make sure that my biological father could never find me. That is when I truly knew loss, and that is when I knew that I must find a way to defeat my father.” (Regina Tomioka to Tanjiro Kamado)

Muzan used Kamado’s family to test

Most of the demon slayers watchers predict that Muzan killed the Kamado family as they were passing the Sun Breathing Technique. But, it is not true at all. When Nezuko has the flashback on Sunrise Countdown Arc it was clear that Muzan does that for another reason.

That was even true. The true reason for it was to form more new demons. Also, Muzan thought that the Kamado family could become a demon who could resist the sunlight. To make it possible he overdoses them with his blood too. Later, Nezuko was saved though she turned into a human. Even more, in the Swordsmith Village Arc she was able to stand in the lethal rays of the sun.

Muzan Kibutsuji Final Form

In the final form of Muzan, he changes his body into a much bigger structure. It seems quite similar to the three-story building. Also, he uses it to be safe from the sunlight. Adding on, he develops his blood vessels when he changes into this form. Even more, he also develops fanged teeth in his mouth.

Is Muzan dead or alive?

Muzan keeps on fighting with all the hashira in the Infinity Castle Arc. He was very powerful enough to fight with all the hashira too. At his fight, he gets poisoned by Tamayo. Whereas, he was not aware of it. He keeps on fighting with Mitsuri and wants to move away as at that time he has only about 30 minutes left for the sunlight. But, he was not able to as Tamayo’s poison had already sealed him.

In the meantime, Muichiro comes to attack him but Muzan can kill him and get rid of one of the hashira. Then, Iguro comes to crush Muzan’s body. Muzan easily defended against them and was trying to escape before dawn. But, Inosuke got up and was ready to stop him. Later, Zenitsu also comes to stop him and both of them try their best to do it.

Heading on, they fail to stop him. While Tanjiro attacked Muzan with his Ninchirin blade in return Tanjiro lost his left arm due to Muzan’s attack. Muzan even expands his body and blasts to escape but Tanjiro holds his sword. Then, Giyu appears to help Tanjiro. Finally, the sun rises and Muzan’s body changes into a huge baby crawling to get away from the sunlight. He even starts digging in. All of the hashira starts with different breathing styles. After all, Sanemi attacks with his wind breathing. In the end, Muzan dies exposed to the sunlight and is burned down to ashes.
