Trigun Stampede

Trigun Stampede is a space western Japanese anime television series. The anime was first aired on January 7, 2023, on the Original Network, TV Tokyo. Also, the anime is directed by the director, Kenji Muto.

As of now, the anime has 12 episodes. It is still running. Also, Crunchyroll has a license for it. Moving on, it was animated by Orange Studios.

Main Plot

As the series is in the space western genre, its genre is very different from other anime. The main plot of the series is set in the very far future. Humans start to search for other planets that are appropriate for humans to live on. Also, they learn how to grow organic or artificial plants. In the same colony, two brothers are born, whose names are Vash and Nai. While they were born, they had a special connection with the plants.

Later, a woman named Rem Saverem raises them. Unfortunately, one day the computer system of the colony stops working, while at the same time Rem saves both of the brothers. Later, Vash finds out it was because of Nai. Even more, Vash also wants to kill humans for exploiting the plants. After growing, Vash becomes popular as Vash the Stampede and Nai as Million Knives. Moving on, he wanted to manage the relationship between humans and plants peacefully.

Main Characters

Vash the Stampede

Vash the Stampede is the main protagonist of the series. Also, he is even more popular with another name, The Humanoid Typhoon. It is because he keeps destroying the things that are around him. His main motive is to maintain love and peace. As a result, to complete it, he goes from one town to another with his revolver. His adoptive mother was the one to teach him about love and peace.

Later, the reporters Meryl and Milly want to find Vash for the interview. Even more, they were also able to meet him, but at that time, the bandits were chasing him. The reason the bandits were chasing him was that he had a bounty of sixty billion double dollars in his head. Heading on, Meryl one day finds Vash in the desert, hanging down and tying his legs.

Million Knives

Knives Million is the main antagonist of the series. In addition, he is the older brother of Vash the Stampede. He was the one who was planning to destroy humans in order to not let them live on a new planet. After some time, Vash also finds out about the reality and knows that Knives was behind it.

Also, he wants to make Vash join his side. But he was not able to do so. As a result, Vash has to go against him. Even more, there is a reason behind his hatred for humankind too. In his childhood, he was also a kind boy like Vash. One day, they find a plant named Tesla. As well, the humans had treated the tesla very badly. Which later changed the personality of Million Knives, and he wants to destroy humanity.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood

Nicholas D. Wolfwood is also popular as Nicholas the Punisher. Also, he is a very cold type of person in personality. As well, he is actually a priest who used to kill people and is evil without wanting to be. Moving on, he also comes to meet Vash later in the series.

They both have different types of personalities. One thinks that humans are devils and should be killed. Whereas, another thinks that we should not kill people and maintain peace throughout the world. Due to his personality, Vash thinks that he is just acting childish. But it is not his childish behavior. To kill the humans, he takes the weapon (Punisher 0) with him.

Milly Thompson

Milly Thomspon is working as an agent for Bernardelli Insurance. The one to assist with her job is Meryl Stryfe. Heading towards her personality, she is a very kind and caring type of girl. Likewise, like most of the girls, she is also a crybaby. As well, Milly has a romantic relationship with Nicholas D. Wolfwood.

But in the manga, we are not able to see the romantic relationship between them. Later, she changes her job from being an agent to broadcasting. Similarly, in the series, she later wants to interview Vash too.

Meryl Stryfe

Meryl Stryfe is a journalist who works for the Bernardelli News Agency. Similarly, in the insurance business of the same company, she used to assist Milly. She and Milly are actually after Vash to track him down. Also, she is a very short-tempered girl who becomes angry in a very short period of time.

Though we do not see lots of her fighting,  she hides the guns inside her coat. Later, Meryl and her partner Mill become able to track Vash. At that time, Vash was in Inepril City and had a bounty on his head. Even more, at the same time, she realizes that Vash is not actually the villain.

Caine the Longshot

Caine the Longshot is one of the best snipers. He is also a member of the gang, whose name is Gung-Ho-Guns. Even more, he was able to get into the gang, replacing Livio the Double Fang. Then he was the last member of the gang. In the series, he almost never speaks. As well, he is a very cold-blooded type of person.

Moving on, he is not afraid of death either. In addition, he was assigned to kill Vash the Stampede. Unfortunately, he was not able to do so. As a result, he commits suicide because he does not want to deal with Million Knives. Nothing of him is actually revealed aside from his name and ability as a sniper.
