Banished from the Hero’s Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside is a fantasy and slice of life Japanese light novel and anime series. The light novel series is illustrated by the Manga Artist, Yasumo and written by Zappon. Also, the light novel was first serialized in June 2018 under their Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint whereas it was serialized online in October 2017.
Moving towards the anime, the anime was first aired on December 6, 2021, on Network, Tokyo MX. The anime is directed by the director Makoto Hoshino and written by Megumi Shimizu. As of now, the anime has finished its first episode with 13 episodes.
Main Plot
The plot of the anime follows a hero whose name is Red. But unfortunately, he gets kicked out of the group of heroes. Before he got kicked from the group, he wanted to protect the world from various villains who were evil. And known as forces of Taraxon, The Raging Demon Lord.
In addition, after being kicked out from such a group of heroes, he bears his new ambition in his life. Additionally, his new ambition is to live his life very easily and happily and open apothecary. To succeed in it he wants to hide his old life as a hero. Even more, ut is very difficult than he thinks because the old life sometimes reflects into the new one. Similarly, one day his old friend on his adventure time named Rit meets him. Also, he wants him to join him on his journey.
Main Characters
1. Red
Red is the main protagonist in the series. Moreover, he is also an adventure who is at the rank D. As well, he is living near the Zoltan. Further, he keeps on gathering various types of medical herbs and selling them in order to live his daily life as well as to open his own shop. In addition, he also has blessings and can also summon different heroes if he wants. Additionally, he also was a member of the group of heroes. Moving on, he wants to help everyone who is in need and wants to live a happy and peaceful life. Although, he has a very good nature and thought he himself thinks that he is a trouble for his team. Adding to it, he can also give his life to help other people.
The Japanese voice for the character is provided by the Japanese voice actor Ryōta Suzuki. Some of his projects include Full Dive, Police in a Pod, and Sabikui Bisco.
Moving towards the English dubbed version, the American voice actor Aaron Campbell provided the voice.
2. Rit
Rit is also an adventurer who is living near a place named Zoltan. In addition, she has already retired as an adventurer and she was ranked B. At the time when she hears about Red, she fastly visits his pharmacy. Moreover, she starts to live there and provides minor help for Red. Additionally, she wants to involve Red in the adventure and form a party. Also, Rid is a very cheerful person who seems very happy most of the time. And, she is in love with Red. Even more, she has quite changed after being in love with Red. As she was a very naughty person before but after falling for Red, she changed herself into a quiet and calm person.
The Japanese voice for the character is contributed by the Japanese voice actress Kanon Takao. In this anime world, she is known for providing a voice for anime like Asteroid in Love, Edens Zero, and In the Land of Leadale.
Heading towards the English dubbed version, the American voice actress Dani Chambers provided the voice.
3. Ruti Ragnason
Ruti Ragnason is previously known as the title hero. Also, she has a brother who previously was a hero named Red. The reason she left as a hero is because of the betrayal she got from the person whose name is Ares. After then, she started to live along with her brother working at his brother’s shop. In addition, she is very calm and silent and can surpass her various emotion with the help of her magic. Though she has such kind of magic she is very hot-headed and cold towards the member of her party. Moving on, she secretly found out that there was a hand of Ares to kick out Red from the party of hero. As well, she happily welcomes every new member who wants to join her party.
The Japanese voice for the character is portrayed by the Japanese voice actress Naomi Ōzora.
Whereas, the English voice for the character is provided by the American voice actress and ADR Director Tia Ballard.
4. Yarandrala
Yarandrala is a very good adventurer and an elf in nature. Additionally, she was also a member of the group of heroes but she left herself as Ares banished Gideon. Even more, like the Red, she also possesses the blessing that is of the Singer of the Trees. Through the blessing, she is able to control every plant that is around her. Moving on, she is a very quiet, mature, and calm person who loves her every friend and those who are involved with her. In addition, she also admires Red and wants to help him in his every difficult situation. Besides, her friends she is also very kind towards the stranger.
The Japanese voice for the character is played by the Japanese voice actress and singer Sora Amamiya.
Also, the English voice for the character is provided by the American voice actress and ADR director Alexis Tipton.
5. Danan LeBeau
Danan LeBeau is also a member of the heroes party but he has already resigned from the group. In addition, he has a mark known as Martial Artist. The main reason for him to resign from the group is because of Ares’s betrayal. Further, he is very good at the use and creation of weapons and he thinks that it is the fastest way to fight and win over Demon’s Lord. Moreover, he owns a big body. Moving on, he has also got an order from Ruti to find her brother as she knows that her brother was kicked out of the group of heroes. While he was in search of Red to complete the order from Ruti, he unknowingly got attacked by Asura Demon.
The Japanese voice for the character is voiced by the Japanese voice actor and narrator Kenta Miyake. Some of his projects include Saiyuki, Steel Angel Kurumi, and Naruto.
6. Ares Srowa
Ares Srowa is also a previous member of the hero’s party who used to betray the various member of the group of heroes. As well, he is very selfish towards everyone and he is blessed with the title called Sign of the Sage. Though he is very selfish and thinks he is the best of all, he is good as a magician. Even more, he told everyone that Red left the party of his own choice but Red was also unknown about it. Because of it, Red also got kicked out from the group of heroes. Although, he was later defeated harshly and killed by the Red whom he had already betrayed. The body of him after his death was got buried at the place called Zoltan.
The Japanese voice for the character is provided by the Japanese voice actor Taku Yashiro. At the 12th Seiyuu Awards, he won the Best Rookie Actor Award. In this anime world, he is known for providing a voice for anime like Gangsta, Gintama, and Active Raid.
Moving towards the English dubbed version, the American voice actor and translator Brandon Mclnnis provided the voice.
7. Theodora Dephilo
Theodora Dephilo is a very successful person. Even more, works as the instructor in the temple. And she often seems with the dress like a knight with a spear. Further, she is also one of the members of the Heroes party and got one of the blessings which is the Sign of Crusader. In addition, she is very kind and follows every rule that the church provides her. Even more, she is an adult. Like other heroes, she also hates Ares, and one of the reasons for it is betraying the hero Red. The person who was not seen at the funeral of Ares was her and Yarandrala.
The Japanese voice for the character is contributed by the Japanese voice actress and singer Aya Uchida.
8. Tisse Garland
Tisse Garland is the girl with the blessing of an Assasin. Also, she is a part of the Assassin’s guild. Likewise, Red also got betrayed by Ares. Though, she is an assassin she is very weak in emotions and hesitates to kill others even when she needs to. Further, she is a more expressive and talkative person when she is around Ruti.
The Japanese voice for the character is portrayed by the Japanese voice actress and singer Rie Kugimiya.
