We, Without Wings: Under the Innocent Sky also known as Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai is a romance, comedy-drama, slice of life, and fantasy Japanese anime series and a video game. The game was released on March 13, 2014, by the Navel. Furthermore, the game was published for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita.

Moving towards the anime, the anime was first aired on April 4, 2011, on the network, Tokyo MX. The anime is directed by the director Shinji Ushiro and written by Takamitsu Kōno. Based on the game various manga was also adapted.

We, Without Wings: Under the Innocent Sky- Main Plot

The plot of the anime follows Haneda Takashi. In order to get away from his school life, he travels to another world. But his connection between younger sister Kobato Haneda and his girlfriend Asuka Watarai.

Later, the anime shows a poor part-timer whose name is Shūsuke Chitose. As well, he works along with Hiyoko Tamaizumi. But they dislike each other. The anime keels on following the three characters. Firstly, it covers up Haneda Takashi about his school activities and knowledge.

Secondly, the anime follows Shūsuke Chitose working at the bar. Thirdly, Hayato Narita has a lot of street knowledge. Moreover, the stories revolve around these characters in chronological order. Moving on, the stories become more complex as the stories are interconnected.

1. Takashi Haneda

Takashi Haneda is the main protagonist of this series. Also, he is a student of Yanagihara City High School. He thinks of himself as a hero of Gredaguard, a fictional kingdom where he escapes. Moreover, in favor of Asuka, he acts like he is her boyfriend. As the book unfolds, it becomes clear that his condition is linked t his escape. Then he believes that he is no hero but is only a knight. Furthermore, his name is the name of the domestic airport of Tokyo.

The Japanese voice for the character is provided by the Japanese voice actor and singer Hiro Shimono. Hiro is affiliated with I’m Enterprise.

Moving towards the English dubbed version, the American voice actor, Joel McDonald provided the voice.

2. Asuka Watarai

Asuka Watarai is a classmate of Takashi. In addition, she rejects many boys for dates and even becomes tired of it. So she asks Takashi to become her fake boyfriend. Additionally, She was diagnosed with changing personality. Her personality suddenly changes as a child, but she overcomes it. As well as she also wants to help Takashi from his sufferings and condition. Despite this, she is unaware of the secret he holds.

The Japanese voice for the character is contributed by the Japanese voice actress Mayumi Yoshida.

Heading towards the English dubbed version, the American voice actress and ADR director Felecia Angelle provided the voice. Some of her projects include High School DxD, One Piece, and Fairy Tail.

3. Shūsuke Chitose

Shūsuke Chitose is a worker at the bar called Alexander. Also, he is a freelancer involved in the book review. Moreover, he also has a good friend, Kakeru Ohtori. Kakeru often provides him with various nicknames and also knows of many of them. As well, he is aware of Hayato Narita and Takashi. In addition, he gets influenced by Hayato to help Takashi in the past. Moving on, his name is the name of New Chitose Airport in Sapporo.

The Japanese voice for the character is provided by the Japanese voice actor Hiroaki Miura.

Whereas, the English voice for the character is provided by the American voice actor Ricco Fajardo. In this anime world, he is known for providing a voice for anime like Assassination Classroom, Dance with devils, and Fairy Tail.

4. Hiyoko Tamaizumi

Hiyoko Tamaizumi is also a part of the bar called a vignette. Moreover, she is a co-worker of Shūsuke. As well, she is a good Novelist. In addition, she thinks her novels will take the good market and be successful in the future. Additionally, she often writes Tama Izumi and Tamaki Hosokawa under pen names. To manage her income, she accepts the work at Alexander.

The Japanese voice for the character is played by the Japanese voice actress Ryōko Ono.

Also, the English voice for the character is provided by the American voice actress Milly Prower.

5. Hayato Narita

Hayato Narita is also a main protagonist living at the street vignette. Furthermore, he does not involve with people and works as a handyman. As of a whole day, he often appears at night. For which he is called Dracula or Drac. His old friends call him Falcon as a nickname. While being paid to assist Naru to retrieve her bicycle, he becomes friends with her. In addition, he also wants to help Takashi in his past. Moving on, his name is also the name of Tokyo’s Biggest International Airport.

The Japanese voice for the character is provided by the Japanese voice actor and singer Junichi Suwabe. In the 7th Seiyuu Award, he got the Best Supporting Actor Award. Some of his projects include Black Butler, Kuroko’s Basketball, and Fairy Tail.

Moving towards the English dubbed version, the American voice actor and convicted sex offender Scott Freeman provided the voice.

6. Kakeru Ohtori

Kakeru Ohtori consits of two personality. In the series, he has a single name but two different people. Later, the series shows that he has a dual personality. Moreover, many girls want to hang out with him at Alexander. At street vignette, he is well known as Phoenix. Also, he is a very old mate of Hayato. Moving on, as the series progress he gets over his dual personality.

The Japanese voice for the character is contributed by the Japanese voice actor Satoshi Hino.

Heading towards the English dubbed version, the American voice actor David Wald provided the voice. In this anime world, he is known for providing a voice for anime like Attack On Titan, Akame ga Kill!, and Fairy Tail.

7. Naru Ohtori

Naru Ohtori is a young girl reading at high school. As well as she is also a part of a street vignette. Though she is very airhead, her outward look is pretty sharp. Furthermore, she asks her crush Hayato, to assist her in her search for her misplaced bicycle. Moving on, she has a thing for uniforms worn by workers.

The Japanese voice for the character is portrayed by the Japanese actress, voice actress, and singer Yūko Gotō.

Whereas, the English voice for the character is provided by the American voice actress and ADR director Jad Saxton.

8. Kobata Haneda

Kobata Hanada is reading in her first year in high school. Furthermore, she is the younger sister of both Takashi and Yōji. Moreover, she has known everything about her brother, including that his brother has a dual personality. And he keeps on splitting from one personality to another.

The Japanese voice for the character is played by the Japanese voice actress Ai Matayoshi.

Also, the English voice for the character is provided by the American voice actress Mary Morgan.

9. Yōji Haneda

Yōji Haneda has a younger sister whose name is Kobata Haneda. From Orange TV, he keeps on watching main male characters. As well, the Orange TV is in a hidden location. In addition, he is the one who can change the channel on TV and keeps on changing the channel.

The Japanese voice actor, Tsubasa Yonaga contributed his voice to Yoji. Some of his projects include Bleach, Bamboo Blade, and Sword Art Online.

10. Karura Itami

At the street vignette, he is known as King Garuta Dark-Black of Gredaguard. In order to assist Kakeru, he joins the group which name is Yanagihara Flame Birds. But he struggles to adjust to human life. After witnessing Kobato’s grief over the loss of her sibling, he relinquishes control of the body that he cannot.

The Japanese voice actor, Tetsu Inada voiced the character, Karura Itami. In this anime world, he is popular for providing a voice for animes like One Piece, Dragon Ball GT, and Rave Master.
