Soul Eater

Soul Eater is an action, dark comedy, and dark fantasy Japanese anime and manga series. The manga was first serialized on May 12, 2004 in the magazine Monthly Shonen Gangan. The manga is written and illustrated by the manga artist, Atsushi Ohkubo. As of now, there are 25 volumes of manga.

Moving towards the anime, the anime was first aired on April 7, 2008, on the original network, TV Tokyo. In addition, the anime is directed by Takuya Igarashi. There have been 51 episodes till now.

Main plot

The main plot of the series is set in a technical school for weapons masters and revolves around three duos. These three duos are very skilled at using weapons as well as human weapons. The meisters are the warriors who fight in battle using demon weapons. They hold a strong motive fitting for use by Shinigami, which is called “Death Scythe”.

But, to make their motive successful, they must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and 1 witch. Also, the task is not going to be easy for them as they have to face difficulties outside their school too. Thus, their trouble increases when their school is planned to be attacked.

Death, the Kid

Death the Kid is famously known as Kid. In addition, he is also a meister of Demon Twin Guns, Liz Thompson, and Patty Thompson. Even more, he is also one of the top 3 soul eaters from the Death Weapon Meister Academy. Heading on, after the death of his father, he becomes the head of the academy, with his name being Lord Death.

Unlike others, he is a very calm and reserved type of person. Particularly, as a gun-type meister, he is very good at marksmanship. As well as that, he uses twin guns in his battles. Along with it, he is also good at martial arts. Being a death god, Death the God is immune to toxins.

Maka Albarn

Maka Albarn is a two-star meister at the academy. He was formerly a member of the two-star unit or group of the academy, Spartoi. From watching her mother, she also wants to become a scythemeister. Even more, one of the reasons she wanted to become like her mother was his father’s betrayal of her mother by partnering with the demon scythe. Her father did it to become more powerful.

Soul Evans

Soul Evans is a demon weapon. Also, he was born into a family with members who are famous musicians. Later, he discovers his weapon abilities as a scythe. Thus, he joins the Death Weapon Meister Academy and becomes a partner with the scythe-meister, Maka Albarn.

Moving on from the series, he also becomes a death scythe after getting the witch soul of Aranche Gorgon. As well, he was able to get it at the battle for arachnophobia. After the defeat of the Clown Army as well as Asura, he becomes popular as “Death’s Last Weapon”.

Death

Death is originally known as God, who is the founder of the Death Weapon Meister Academy. Even more, he was also the third meister of Spirit Albarn. Before 800 years ago, he managed the world himself, forming a group called the Eight Reaper Legions. But, he left it when he was betrayed by one of his elite guards and first son, Asura.

To stop his madness and sacrifice his mobility, death has to seal Asura. As a result, he finds the Death Weapon Meister Academy. As of now, death is the head of the academy, and his son helps to prevent the rise of another Kinshin.

Asura

Asura is the first generation of the Kishin. He has a non-magical force that resides in the madness of fear. Even more, he is the eldest son of the head of the academy, Death. Also, he was the leader of the Eight Reaper Legions.

Later, he betrays his own father and becomes one of the Kishin. So, he was sealed by his father until Medusa’s faction revived him.

Excalibur

Excalibur is a holy sword and was a member of the Eight Reaper Legions. Following the demon weapon race, he is one of the most powerful weapons in the world.

Even more, Excalibur can transform into a normal form as well as a sword form. It can also form wings of light, which can make the user fly too. Further, the user can also teleport from one place to another.

Black Star

Black Star is an assassin and the last remaining member of the Star Clan. So, Sid Barrett took him and raised him very well. Also, his weapon partner is Tsubaki Nakatsuka. As well, he is also one of the top students in the academy.

Similarly, he is also an old member of the group, Spartoi. In addition, he is very good in the martial arts too. Further, partnering with Tsubaki, he can transform into various forms like shuriken, chain scythe, smoke bomb, ninja sword, and uncanny sword.

Tsubaki Nakatsukasa

Tsubaki Nakatsukasa is a demon weapon partnered with Black Star. She is a member of the Nakatsukasa clan. Also, she is from a special weapon clan in which the demon weapons are created by the mother of magic weapons, Arachne Gorgon.

Moving on, she also has multi-form ability. Later, she joins the Death Weapon Meister Academy to stop her brother from becoming Kishin.
