Oshi no Ko

Oshi no Ko is a drama, mystery, and supernatural Japanese anime and manga series. The manga was first serialized on April 23, 2020, in the magazine Weekly Young Jump. Also, the manga is illustrated by the manga artist, Mengo Yokoyari. As of now, there are 13 total volumes of manga.

Moving towards the anime, the anime was first aired on April 12, 2023, in the original Netwirk, Tokyo MX. In addition, the anime is directed by the director, Daisuke Hiramaki. There have been 11 total episodes till now.

Main Plot

The main plot of the series covers different mysteries. It follows the twins of the famous musical idol, Ai Hoshino. One day, she was concerned about her health. As a result, a gynecologist, Gorou, one of her fans, comes to check her up. After checking up, he finds out that she was not ill, but she was pregnant with two twins. Even more, he also promised to safely deliver the children to her home.

Heading on, the doctor was killed later. It was about to change all of the things and the relationship of the doctor with Ai. Later, the doctor was born as a twin along with his patient, Sarina Tendoji. Sarina was also a huge fan of AI. Unfortunately, four years later, Ai was also killed. Whereas, the twins continue to have memories of the past and find ups and downs in the Japanese entertainment industry. They also come to find out various mysteries related to the death of Ai.

Main Characters

Aqua Hoshino

Aqua Hoshino is the male protagonist of the series. In his previous life, he was a gynecologist. Even more, one of his patient’s stalkers killed him. After that, he was reincarnated as the son of a famous idol, Ai Hoshino. In the past, he was an orphan, and now, as a child of Ai, he is enjoying his life by entering the entertainment world.

Unfortunately, he was not able to enjoy it too long as someone killed his mother, Ai. Whereas, the one who killed his mother was the same person who killed him in his previous life. Then, he decides to find the dark sides of the industry to find the one who was behind the death of his mother.

Ruby Hoshino

Ruby Hoshino is also famous for her name, just Ruby. She is the female protagonist of the series. In addition, her previous name was Sarina Tendouji. Even more, she was one of the patients of Gorou, as she was ill. Likewise, Garou also reincarnates as the child of her favorite idol, Ai Hoshino.

In her past life, her parents used to neglect her. So, she is enjoying her new life. As of now, her mother has taught her how to become an idol. One day, her mother was murdered. To fulfill her mother’s dream, she continued her journey as an idol. Also, she even formed a group, Ai’s Idol Group.

Ai Hoshino

Ai Hoshino is the mother of Aqua and Ruby. Even more, she is a very famous idol of B-Komachi. Further, she is very kind and loves her fans, though she is a famous idol. Later, she finds out she is pregnant and is going to give birth to twins. Then she starts to raise them in secret. So, that her children have no idea that she is an idol.

Her children found out the truth when she was attacked by the disgruntled fan. Adding on, she told them that she loved them a lot when she was near death. Even though, after her death, her daughter keeps on following her path, As a result, her legacy still keeps on going. It also seems like her dream might be fulfilled through her children.

Hikaru Kamiki

Hikaru Kamiki is the main antagonist of the series. He is the person who fathered Aqua and Ruby. As well, he is the president of Kamiki Productions. Even more, he is the one who is responsible for the death of Ai Hoshino. It is because he was the one who provided Ai’s address to her disgruntled fan.

After the death of Ai, he tried to disentangle Aqua. As well, he tells him to take revenge on his mother. In reality, he is a sad person and a murderer. Being a murderer, he loves to watch people die in front of him. It all started when he was 11 years old. At that time, one of the adult actresses used to molest him. So, from then on, he loved to watch others suffer for their lives.

Akane Kurokawa

Akane Kurokawa is also a famous actress. She played the co-star of Aqua Hoshino in a reality dating show called LoveNow. They seem to have a good relationship, too. Even more, when she was in controversy, Aqua was the one to save her from it.

Later, she becomes a girlfriend as a plot of the show. Even though they were only together, as the plot follows, She stays like that behind the show too, hoping that the fake love can turn out to be real. As a result, she seems to have a love interest in Aqua Hoshino.

Taiki Himekawa

Taiki Himekawa is a very famous actor who has already won the award. In the series, he works for the Lala Lai Theatrical Company. When he first appeared in the series, his appearance was similar to Aqua Hoshino’s.

He is a stage actor. He does not care about his appearance most of the time. He only manages it before going to perform. His parents died when he was young, and Toshirou raised him. So, he became an award-winning star even though he was taken from an orphanage.
